My own yoga journey began with a wonderful yoga teacher who inspired me to become a teacher – thank you Mohan.

I trained as a teacher in India at the Sivananda Ashram. After qualifying, I spent time in India, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Nepal – amongst other places – experiencing a smorgasboard of yoga teaching and meditative practices. I was honoured to spend time at an Ayurveda ashram, learning about Ayurvedic practices from an elder.

On my return to the UK I qualified as an accredited teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga, and became an accredited BWY teacher for Yoga for Pregnancy – I’ve been teaching yoga for 15 years now.

The yoga I teach is a fusion of Hatha, Sivananda and Tibetan yoga, asana practice and pranayama (breath work), meditation and relaxation. I often tell stories taken from the ancient sanskrit teachings, yoga sutras and yoga texts for you to think about as part of your yoga practice. I like to help students to learn more about themselves through their yoga.Practising mindfully and with full awareness gives us a wonderful opportunity to grow and enjoy life.

My teaching style is varied and interesting, choosing different themes to pursue like the doshas, or the seasons and, most importantly, I like to bring a sense of humour to my classes.  We do like to have fun. My classes have a safe and friendly atmosphere – if you have special considerations or conditions, I can offer you alternatives to make sure that your individual needs are met.

Come along and join me on your own yoga journey.
